Its name is taken from the wild shrub which covers the valleys around Lake Arancio with its yellow flowers in the spring. Grecanico is grown in the historic 25-year old Ulmo vineyard and expresses to the full the unique characteristics of this noble and ancient Sicilian grape variety.
Elegant, balanced and austere, this is the ideal companion for the rich Mediterranean cuisine.

Vinification: After being crushed, destemmed and soft pressed, the must is decanted at a low temperature and then inoculated with a selected pure yeast. When fermentation is completed the must matures on the lees for 6 months.

Organoleptic properties

COLOUR: Pale straw yellow with hints of greenish light.

AROMA: Austere and restrained. Aromas of ripe white melon and
white Etna peaches, followed by sweet flavours reminiscent of white chocolate and meringue. A slight mineral flavour gradually emerges.

FLAVOUR: The palate is distinguished, not too exaggerated but full and unexpectedly soft. Good acidity accentuates the freshness. A surprising finish with the return of substantial floral flavours.

Serving temperature

Best enjoyed at a temperature of 9-12°C.
