Dry red wine that comes from the indigenous variety of the same name. After a long maceration on the skins is aged in oak barrels for 18 months.
It is our youngest Amarone, a perfect combination between tradition and present, between easy-drinking quality and intensity, able to face longer aged Amarone wines in terms of taste and peculiarity. The big deal of this wine is the origin from a land historically devoted to great wine production as the Valpolicella Classica is. Lively as its red colour, it’s an important wine, elegant and modern, food friendly.

To drink it is like strolling through the valleys of Valpolicella Classica, experiencing colours and scents, learning about history, culture and tradition.
The origin of the Vernatsch Vine is in South Tyrol. The Romans brought the Vernatsch (schiava) to the Rhine. The Swabians brought the first vines from South Tyrol to Germany in 1740. Hence the name Tirolinger, later Trollinger. The Italian name „schiava“ - Slave comes from this vine’s extreme fertility. In South Tyrol there are 850 hectares of the variety Vernatsch.
The Gewürztraminer has been around for 1000 years, it is the wine of the minnesingers and the famous bard Oswald von Wolkenstein. Our Gewürztraminer vines are 30 years old and produce a wine worthy of its long standing reputation.
Every ounce of our experience, soul and energy has been invested in this wine. ‘Riserva’ stands for wine from a better year or a particular selection of grapes, aged longer than normal. In this case grapes from slow growing French vines, aged for a year in oak casks
Although made from a grape grown widely in an area covering Tuscany, Provence, Sardinia and Corsica, the wine has a distinctively Ligurian character. The label features Castle Doria in green, like the green tinges of the wine, emphasised by a white line that is a stylised image of the humpback bridge, on a white background. It encapsulates Dolceacqua.
